Seminar on COST Programme and International Research Opportunities at Mersin University Faculty of Sports Sciences

EHR-LAB delivered a seminar at Mersin University Faculty of Sports Sciences focusing on the COST Programme, international research networks, and opportunities for interdisciplinary scientific collaboration.

Representing EHR-LAB, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veysel Alcan delivered a seminar at the Faculty of Sports Sciences of Mersin University on recent developments and international networking and research collaboration opportunities available through the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Programme.

The seminar was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Gümüş, Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. İnci Kesilmiş and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nasuh Evrim Acar, together with faculty members and graduate students. The seminar addressed the structure of COST Actions, opportunities to join international research networks, mechanisms for scientific collaboration, Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs), Training Schools, and the opportunities COST provides for researchers at different career stages.

An important part of the event was dedicated to discussing ongoing and future academic collaboration between Tarsus University EHR-LAB and Mersin University Faculty of Sports Sciences. Discussions explored potential joint research projects, interdisciplinary studies, opportunities for graduate and early-career researcher engagement, and the shared use of research infrastructure and laboratory facilities. Particular attention was given to collaborative research at the intersection of engineering, health sciences, sports sciences, human movement, and biomedical measurement technologies.

The seminar and subsequent discussions provided a valuable platform for strengthening institutional scientific interaction, developing new collaborative research initiatives, and encouraging more active participation of researchers in COST Actions and other international research networks.
