TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1001 Project Involving EHR-LAB Researchers Awarded Funding

17 Eylül 2026 Perşembe

Our project proposal entitled “Integration of Hemodynamic Biomarkers in Coronary Lesions: FSI-Based Patient-Specific Modeling and Association with Clinical Risk” has been awarded funding under the TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1001 – Scientific and Technological Research Projects Funding Programme.

The project will be led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Buğra Sarper from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Tarsus University. The multidisciplinary research team includes cardiology specialists Dr. Ahmet Taş and Dr. Yaren Alan, Mechanical Engineering PhD researcher Ali Müftüoğlu, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veysel Alcan, representing EHR-LAB, as researchers.

The project focuses on patient-specific modelling of coronary artery lesions, Fluid–Structure Interaction (FSI)-based hemodynamic analyses, and the integration of derived hemodynamic biomarkers with clinical risk indicators. By combining engineering-based computational modelling with clinical cardiology expertise, the project aims to establish a multidimensional framework for investigating and characterising coronary lesions.

Bringing together expertise in mechanical engineering, cardiology, biomedical data analysis, and computational modelling, the project represents an important example of interdisciplinary research at the interface of engineering and health sciences. EHR-LAB's contribution is expected to support the integration of biomedical data processing, quantitative biomarker assessment, and data-driven analytical approaches within the multidisciplinary research framework.

EHR-LAB congratulates Assoc. Prof. Dr. Buğra Sarper and the entire project team and looks forward to the project's scientific contributions to patient-specific cardiovascular modelling and clinically relevant decision-support research.
